Wooden Weed™ Boutique Hotel

Vibe + Restore + Explore at our Route 66 experience located in Gray Summit, Missouri!

With a venerable history all its own, this property dates back to 1855 when Highway 100 was known as State Street and later much of the road between St. Louis and Gray Summit became the original U.S. Route 66, as not only was Highway 100 is the only route from downtown St. Louis that did not cross a river, but it was used by The Pony Express and many pioneers who settled in the area during the westward expansion.

Local residents tell us stories of the hotel taking several years to be constructed and how the bricks were hand patted and fired on-site. The property served as a hotel during the 1800s and early 1900s. It was eventually expanded in the 1920s to add kitchens — one of which was an underground summer kitchen located under the current kitchen.

Later, it was the post office in Gray Summit, MO before being converted to a family home in late 1900's. By the 2000's, it was officially transitioned and registered for commercial use again.

Today, this French-Colonial-style brick building is still burgeoning with historical charm. Guests will marvel at the warmth and authenticity of the atmosphere, as not only were the bricks hand-patted and fired on-site, but many of the original building details remain preserved.

In short, the elegance and energy of this property are bound to bring you happiness and inspiration.

Finally, the property features many historical elements and is conveniently located a mere half-hour drive from downtown St. Louis as well as many other local attractions. We are a dog-friendly establishment, and provide many amenities in order to better curate a high-vibe experience including the on-site Wooden Weed Wellness Boutique.
